"Putting the Pieces Together"

Building on the groundswell of community activism initiated by the Obama campaign in Moore County, NC a group of residents came together for a workshop called "Be the Change for Moore" and identified pressing issues facing our county. Moore CAN was organized as a result of the high turnout, energy and enthusiasm at that workshop.

Moore CAN is a Community Action Network. Five broad areas of focus were identified and teams were created to work together to effect change in our community. The teams are: Education, Governance/Healthcare, Environment, Community Outreach, and Economy. Each of these Action Teams meet individually during the month to plan and initiate projects and then come together monthly to report their progress to the whole group.

Moore CAN is inclusive, nonpartisan and issues oriented and meets monthly on the first Sunday of every month at the Southern Pines Civic Club, 105 S. Ashe Street, Southern Pines, from 2:00-4:00 p.m.

This is an open group and new members are always welcome. Please join us!
